SilverServers Newsletter: August 2025
August 1st 2025

It’s been a productive summer at SilverServers! Since we didn’t publish a July 1st newsletter, this month we’re recapping highlights from both June and July. Let’s dive in.
OII Brand Book Goes Online
We’ve been working closely with Ownership ID to launch a new online brand book—a searchable database of all registered cattle brands in BC. They’ve been a long-standing client, and we’re thrilled to help Ownership ID bring this valuable tool to the web.

Email Migration Complete
After a multi-year transition, our Zimbra email service has officially come to a close. We still offer lightweight email services for clients with basic needs. If you're looking for a simple, streamlined email option, check out what we currently provide:

Website Launches
Over the past couple of months, we’ve helped launch three new websites—each with its own unique goals and audience:
TRUSU – Thompson Rivers University Student Union
This was a major project that spanned several months of collaboration between our team and the TRUSU staff. The new site brings together everything the student union offers—clubs, services, governance, events, and more—into a modern, user-friendly platform. Both teams are proud of how it turned out.

BrewLoops
BrewLoops is a beloved annual non-profit festival in Kamloops that celebrates craft beverages, live music, and community. The new website captures the energy of the event while giving organizers a clean and flexible platform for promoting upcoming festivals and sharing the spirit of the event year-round.

West End Retro Retreat
This small but charming site promotes a modern Airbnb located in Kamloops' West End. We had fun pulling together recommendations for local dining, adventures, and experiences to help bring the vacation vibe to life online.

Congratulations to each of these organizations on their new online presence!
Kamloops Data Centre Upgrades
To keep things running cool and smooth, we’ve installed two new air conditioning units downstairs in our data centre. Installation included core drilling—yes, that means two new holes in the building—but it’s all part of ensuring reliable infrastructure.
On the Blog
We’ve published several new blog articles over the past two months:

Tip of the Month: Keep Your Domain Info Up to Date
With recent changes to domain ownership rules, it’s more important than ever to make sure your registration details—especially contact info—are accurate. An outdated email address or missing verification can lead to service interruptions or even loss of domain ownership. Need help checking yours? Let us know—we’re happy to assist.
Thanks for catching up with us! If you have any questions about the updates or projects mentioned above, feel free to reach out. See you next month!
